Everyone has a family
Today we are going to learn about families. For the purpose of this lesson, we want to talk about families related by blood, marriage, or law. There are also other kinds of families, for example, many people would call an especially close group of friends, or a group of unrelated people living in one place, a "family." In some cases, people who are not able to live with their blood or legal families because they are unable to take care of them will live with people that can. In other cases, some people or even the law won’t want to recognize a family for political or religious reasons. We should understand that all of these different kinds of families can still serve the same purposes as the families we are focusing on today: they all can provide love, support, commitment, encouragement, and, when needed, discipline.
