What are your values?
What do you think of when you hear the word “value?” A lot of people think of money – of getting the most value for their naira when they’re shopping, or making a big purchase like a house or a car or a computer. But “value” can also mean a quality that you think is important in yourself or in any other person, like a friend or family member. It’s a personal measure of worth that you can use to measure yourself and the people around you.Sometimes we learn our values from our environment – from our families, friends, or the society in which we live. As we get older, we start to learn that values come from different places and influences for different people, and so what we value might not be the same as what another person values. Part of being an adult is knowing your own values, and living up to them.
