Speak out!

I bet by now you’ve heard a lot about the need to stand up for yourself and for others. There are a lot of different times in our lives when we need to speak up: to tell someone what we want or need in a clear and direct way. This is called assertiveness, and it’s all about standing up for what you want or believe in, without stepping on anyone else to get it. Being assertive is a good way to communicate.

Being assertive, but respectful to everyone around you – your parents, teachers, siblings, friends and peers – will ensure that you are treated with respect. So let’s learn how!
