From the African region, many countries, including Nigeria, have also agreed upon some regional policies, charters and documents to protect the rights of African people including children and women.
African Charter on Human and People’s Rights
This was adopted in June 1981 by the African States members of the then Organization of African Unity (OAU), now African Union (AU).
